We know that Halloween can be a fun time for all ages! At our Village Orthodontics office we will be dressing up in costume!! If you are in the area- trick or treat at our office :) We will be in the office from 8:00-5:00 that day!
If you currently have an Orthodontic appliance (braces, expander, Incognito™, inside braces, clear braces, etc.) please try to avoid all sticky/chewy treats. Anything chewy or sticky can be hard on Orthodontic appliances- even if they don't break while eating the treat the adhesive can be weakened. Also important to note- if you have any breakage occur- please give our office a call and we will be happy to schedule you for a repair.
Here are Village Orthodontics and Minneapolis Orthodontics- we wish you a safe and fun Halloween!!! In the words of our Dental Assistant, Sue "Happy Haunting!"

Hip hip hooray for summertime!! Here at Village Orthodontics and Minneapolis Orthodontics we love summer! Beautiful sunshine, happy people & a lot of shared smiles. However, it also can be a very busy time for a orthodontic office. Here are a few friendly reminders as summer 2016 approaches!
*If you are interested in getting braces on over the summer- schedule a New Patient Exam or a Growth and Developmental check (depending on your history at our office) now because it is a popular time to put braces on.
*Set up your next appointment in advance so you can get the time that you prefer.
*Try not to miss appointments- and if you must (we understand how life can get) call us as soon as you are able so we can get you back on our schedule.
*Be pro-active. If you have other children who are older than the age of 7- schedule them now for a New Patient Exam to get a orthodontic screening. Also important to remember there is no charge for a Initial Exam or a Growth and Developmental check.
*If you are an adult who has always contemplated getting orthodontic treatment- wait no more!- schedule a complimentary Initial Exam with us to discuss options. We offer a lot of esthetic options including 3M Incognito™ (inside braces, lingual braces, hidden braces) and 3M Clarity brackets (or clear brackets). Adult Orthodontics is a growing trend- not just for cosmetic reasons but for bite and function.
*On summer vacations make sure to stay away from foods you should avoid (chewy, sticky or hard food). You don't want to ruin your summer vacation with a broken brace or wire poke.
*Wear your rubber bands! What a perfect time to get good rubber band wear in :) :) :)
*Most importantly, ENJOY SUMMER, HAVE FUN, SHARE SMILES AND LAUGHTER :)
Thank you to all of our patients and their families- we truly appreciate you and our office would not be the same without you!! Thank you for choosing us.

Here at Village Orthodontics and Minneapolis Orthodontics we feel this article from the American Association of Orthodontists is very important. Good oral hygiene is extremely important while in active orthodontic treatment. But even some of our best brushers could end up with decalcification (white spots on teeth) if they drink a lot of the drinks on this list. We all should take a look at this list and be mindful what we put into our bodies and what directly hits our tooth surface.

Every year, we like to promote the American Dental Associations’ National Children’s Dental Health Month in February. NCDHM is meant to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. The ADA’s theme this year is “Sugar Wars” (wonder where that came from) and their message is simple and effective:
-Brush 2 minutes, 2 times a day.
-Clean between your teeth daily.
-Limit snacks, eat healthy meals.
-Visit your dentist regularly.
Our assistant, Kelsey will be visiting a lot of classrooms this February to remind kids the importance of healthy teeth and a healthy mouth :) Dr. Wahl donates a tooth brush, floss and travel kit to each student in each class that Kelsey visits. Village Orthodontics and Minneapolis Orthodontics is always looking for ways to give back to the community- and we find this to beneficial to many.
Also during NCDHM we like to recognize that it is recommended by the American Association of Orthodontics that a child get evaluated by a Orthodontist at the age of 7. There are reasons to start Orthodontics at an early age for functional purposes. We offer a complimentary initial exam at both of our locations (New Brighton and Downtown Minneapolis) to hear what treatment our doctors (Dr. Wahl and Dr. Del Mastro) recommend.
